What have I been up to?

Well it’s been so long since I wrote a blog sorry for that I really have been slacking this summer with my posts. So today I’ll give a quick update as to what I have been doing and why I’m not finding the time to write so much.
1. Ironman training is some busy stuff!! Trying to fit in all these workouts, plus coach runners, and work a full time Real estate job is tough stuff. But I’m feeling good and I’m getting the workouts in.
2. Real Estate has been busy!! Interest rates are low, homes are selling and there has been some positive steady action over the last 5 months. This is a good thing.
3. Training my daughter Bella not only do I do my workouts, and workouts with other athletes I coach but I do workouts with my 10 year old daughter Bella to get her ready for Iron kids National Championships this weekend.
4. Watching the Olympics… OK this is over now but for a two week period I was glued in watching those things and loving it!
So those are a few reasons why I have been slacking on writing educational, inspiring stuff for you all to read. ? Sorry!
My workouts have been really good until last week when I tweaked my hamstring and then my legs just overall got really tired and sore from racing and workouts.
I ran a half marathon earlier this month and finished 2nd overall, I raced the Lake Marion (Lakeville) Olympic distance Triathlon 2 weeks ago and took 3rd place overall and had the fastest bike split for the day. Made a little money and had a PR time for the Olympic distance Triathlon. I really felt like I performed pretty well that day, my bike split could have been faster I know I have it in me, my run felt really good and overall I was pretty good with my swim. So I feel I will be ready for this weekend!
What is this weekend you ask? The 5150 World Championships in Des Moines Iowa part of the Hy-Vee Triathlon. This is a huge race for me and I’m looking forward to it! Need to get rested and healthy and then I’ll be ready to roll.

I’ve been running a lot of miles, and with some good quality, I’ve been biking a lot of good miles, and swimming is going well also. Had a great open water swim last week in my new wet suit a TYR category 5 full sleeve it’s so nice! My bike is a Trek speed concept 9.9 with Sram Red, and shoes I run in a lot of different things. Pearl Izumi makes my favorite, the Iso-Transition shoe (a Triathlon type racing flat) and the Peak 2 Trail shoe. Both excellent! I also run some in Nike Lunar Montreal which I like as well.
My watch the trusty old Garmin 910!! This thing truly is amazing best watch I’ve ever owned!
So that gives you a quick view of what I have been doing and some gear I like. Time to go ride my TT bike and then have dinner.
